Czech Republic

Opening hours: Daily 21:00-05:00
Karlovy Lazne is one of the coolest places in Prague to hang out if you're into serious clubbing. Just one entrance fee gets you a ticket to "5 clubs on 5 levels". Each floor has its own style, from chill out to hard core trance; enough variation to keep even the most ardent clubber entertained all night. The interior of the Karlovy Lazne building dates from the 14th/15th centuries. Original mosaic tiles adorn the walls and floors in some areas, while preserved Roman style spa pools (minus the water!) serve as two of the dance floors. The five levels consist of the entrance level Music Cafe, Discothèque for lovers of 70's disco revival, Kaleidoscope covering hits of the 60's-80's, the Paradogs Club for the best of house, trance and techno, and finally a chill out zone in the top floor café, playing a mellow selection of music and featuring cushions, rugs and soft lighting.

Lucerna, located in a shopping arcade of the same name, is just a few minutes walk fromWenceslas Square. This large venue hosts gigs of popular Czech bands during the week, and transforms into an 80s/90s themed nightclub at weekends. This is undoubtedly the best 80s club in Prague, in part due to a huge screen by the dance floor, playing video accompaniment to most of the tunes. The interior of Lucerna is simple, but it is all about the atmosphere. The mainly Czech crowd dance til they drop, ensuring a great party mood. Lucerna is also popular when bands are playing. The dance floor wraps around the semi-circular stage, enabling the crowd to close in on the performers.
Solid Uncertainty Bar & Club (Solidni nejistota)
Adrress:
Solid Uncertainty Bar & Club
Pstrossova 21
New Town, Prague 1
Czech Republic
Public transport: Karlovo Namesti (line B)
Opening hours: Daily 18:00-06:00
The fiery red walls and huge circular bar in the centre of Solid Uncertainty give a very distinct first impression as you enter the club. It is a good one though, making this a popular venue with plenty of atmosphere and a real Saturday night party night feel. Solid Uncertainty (Solidni Nejistota) is a friendly, easy going club. The music is not too loud that you can't have a good conversation, but if you fancy a dance, the small dance floor is packed most weekend nights as the DJ blends together a decent mix of party tunes.
Zlaty Strom Bar & Club
Address:
Zlaty Strom Bar & Club
Karlova 6
Old Town, Prague 1
Czech Republic
Public Transport: Staromestska (line A)
Opening hours: Daily 20:00-06:00
Zlaty Strom Bar & Club is located underneath a hotel of the same name, on the road linking Charles Bridge to the Old Town Square. It is the club with the TV screens outside in the street. Zlaty Strom has three bars, a dance floor, several alcoves and a pole dancing section, all nicely air-conditioned in the summer. An all-night girl show takes place next to one of the bars. This naturally proves very popular with visiting Prague stag nights: topless dancers, a three-girl strip and lesbian shows are all on offer for the price of a drink. As this is merely a bar, it is all very relaxed. In the adjoining rooms are various chill-out areas, leading on to an illuminated dance floor. This latter area attracts plenty of young Czech teens, out for a drink and a dance. The music is standard poppy dance.

Bombay Cocktail Bar is a lively music bar, just a short walk from the Old Town Square along popular Dlouha street. It’s a busy place, but big enough to cope with its popularity. Bombay has a good party atmosphere and attracts a large international crowd. There is also a small dance floor for when the mood takes you. You won’t have trouble getting to the bar, as it stretches right along one side of the room. Bar tenders expertly prepare delicious cocktails, some of the best in town. Of particular note are the Rum Runners and the Margaritas. They also serve a good range of beers from around the world. Bombay is a fairly place with exposed brickwork, high ceilings and archways separating the bar from the dance area. There’s a policy of no stag parties, but if that means you, enter in small numbers and you should be OK.
